HC stays Avva Madesha’s lifer verdict

Mysuru, August 15:- The High Court has stayed the life imprisonment given by the Mysore District Sessions Court to former corporator C Madesha alias Avva Madesha, his brother C Manjunath and six others for lack of evidence in Hunsur double murder.

The district sessions court had sentenced Madesha and others with life imprisonment in the May 14, 2008 double murder case. The prosecution had claimed that the victims, Rajesh alias Gandhi and Ramu, were murdered over an old rivalry.

The advocate of Madesha had questioned the verdict in the High Court, which has suspended the life imprisonment.

Among the eight accused, four, including Madesha and Manjunath are in jail whereas the other four are out on bail. (MR/KS).
