Mysuru, March 9:- Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy expressed his anger over Agriculture Minister B C Patil who had spoken about farmers’ loan waiver.’ “Agriculture minister should not speak for the sake of speaking. He is unnecessarily spreading lies,” he said.
Kumaraswamy was speaking to media persons in the city on Sunday.
Patil had alleged that Kumaraswamy announced loan waiver as the chief minister and had not made any plans for its implementation.
“It seems that he has no knowledge regarding the loan waiver. I did not announce loan waiver while stepping down as the chief minister but also provided Rs 25,000 crore for it. Rs 800 crore which I had provided is not yet released by the government. We had asked for simple documents from the farmers. It is the responsibility of the Agriculture Department to solve if there is any problem with the documents. Patil should not spread unnecessary lies,” Kumaraswamy added.
Responding to the state government dropping Shadi Bhagya scheme, Kumaraswamy said that the state government has dropped all the development works. He said that even BJP MLAs are unhappy that funds have not been allotted for their constituencies.
He also said that the MLAs are alleging that the officials have not released flood relief funds even after Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa asking them to do so. (MR/KS)
