Revenue Minister V Srinivas Prasad was speaking at the district-level body building competition
“A sound body encourages owning a sound mind. Hence, the youngsters need to build their personality which in turn can facilitate the creation of a society which is better, healthy and knowledgeable,” said Revenue and District In-charge Minister V Srinivas Prasad, here on Sunday.
He was speaking at the district-level body building competition, jointly organised by the city-based Amateur Body Builders’ Association and R Ashwathnarayan Fans Club. The winners of body building competition have been honoured with Devishri Award.
With their bodies painted golden, oil and black, gym enthusiasts flaunted their muscles in the competition which was organised as part of the birthday celebrations of R Ashwath Narayan, a tender coconut seller who became hotel owner. A large number of people witnessed the competition.
Competitions were held in different categories including short-level, medium, tall and super tall.
City Police Commissioner B Dayananda, MLA G T Devegowda, Mayor B L Bhyrappa, Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare, former MCC councilor Parthasarathi, Congress leader V Ramaswamy, aocial worker M Deshigowda, Raymond D’souza Mr World body builder awardee and Apollo Gymnasium School trainer Y Nagesh Rao were present. The guests were felicitated at the event.
The competition was organised to mark the birthday celebrations of R Ashwath Narayan, a tender coconut seller who turned into a successful hotelier.
