Mysuru, May 22:- Heaps of wastes welcome everyone at Hebbal industrial area in the heritage city of Mysuru. The wastes from city, debris, food wastes are brought and dumped at the industrial area. Industrialists are worried that the region is turning out to be a dumping yard.
Chemical wastes are poured into rainwater drainage. The whole area is engulfed in a foul smell. Heaps of wastes are dumped on HP gas road but the waste has not been cleared for weeks.
Huge trucks are being parked beside Hebbal Lake road causing inconvenience to vehicular movement. There is no truck terminal in the industrial area. Trucks visiting MSEL storage are parked beside the road. Truck drivers urinate openly on the footpath.
Wastes are brought in tractors and dumped at Koorgalli industrial area. Secretary of the Mysuru Industries Association Suresh Kumar Jain has urged the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to take action. (MR/KS)
