Heavy rain on Sunday night wreaks havoc in Mysuru

Mysuru, May 4:- Mysuru city received heavy rain on Sunday night. The rains along with thunder and lightning and gusty wind wreaked havoc.

The rain started at around 11 pm and continued to pound till late in the night. Many trees got uprooted in several areas. A huge tree fell on the road near A to Z shop in Kuvempunagar. ‘Abhaya’ team of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) rushed to the spot to clear the damaged tree.

Electric poles were also uprooted in residential localities of Mysuru and workers of CESCom were engaged in resuming power supply to the areas.

Another tree fell in front of the residence of the Deputy Commissioner and one more near RC office on Hunsur main road. Electricity supply was cut off immediately to avert any damage.

With the vehicular traffic also hit by the rains, traffic police are having a testing time. (MR/KS)
