Mysuru, October 13:- There is no respite for the residents as rain water has again flooded several houses in low-lying areas across the city on Thursday. The city witnessed heavy rains for over two hours last evening.
The Dasara Exhibition Grounds has tuned into a lake. The shop owners and the visitors to the exhibition were seen wading through the flooded grounds.
Meanwhile, the shop owners alleged that the chairman of the Karnataka Exhibition Authority Siddaraju has not taken any measures to avoid flooding at the exhibition grounds during rains. “In addiiton, the water from sewage canal has also entered the exhibition grounds and is posing a threat to the health of the visitors.”
In several areas the vehicles were seen partially submerged in water. The residents blamed the officials for not taking any measures even after complaining many times.
MLA Vasu visited the rain affected areas and assured to take up relief works on priority.
