Hindi row: Namma metro to follow Chennai, Kochi

Prime News, Karnataka, Bengaluru, July 12:- The Karnataka Urban Development Department has written to the managing director of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) to provide information on how the language policy is implemented in other Metros.

The move comes after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that, he had instructed the officials to check the practice followed by Kolkata, Kochi, Delhi and Chennai metros in the use of languages in signage and announcement.
A letter from M Hidayattullah Deputy Secretary Urban Development Department said “You have been hereby directed to submit a report on the language policy and practices followed in metro rail corporations in Kerala and Tamil Nadu,”
