Writers CPK and Malali Vasantha Kumar lauded the organisational skills and multifaceted personality of Pundalika Halambi
A condolence meeting was held at Mysuru Kannada Sahitya Parishat premises to pay homage to former Kannada Sahitya Parishath (KSP) President Pundalika Halambi on Tuesday.
Speaking at the condolence meet noted writer and poet Dr C P Krishnakumar said, “Pundalika Halambi was a great Kannada activist with a vision based on secularism and social justice. He always worked for the cause of Kannada language and the land during his tenure as president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat. His was a multifaceted personality and he always strove to bring talented artists to the limelight.”
Writer and scholar Dr Malali Vasantha Kumar said, “Halambi was known for his organisational skills. He was a fine blend of innocence and maturity. He struggled to make Kannada as the medium of instruction.”
KaSaPa District President Dr Y D Rajanna, theatre personality Rajashekhar Kadamba, former KaSaPa presidents Maddikere Gopal, M Chandrashekhar and others were also present.
The former KaSaPa president’s contribution to the strengthening of Kannada language and is struggles to make Kannada the medium of instruction was recollected at the condolence meeting.
