Home delivery of fruits and vegetables begins in Mysuru

Mysuru, April 1:- Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Horticulture Department and HOPCOMS have started an initiative to supply fruits and vegetables to houses that are within the corporation limit. The initiative was inaugurated on Tuesday.

Five vehicles will supply fruits and vegetables to the doorsteps. Each vehicle can carry 1.5 tonnes of fruits and vegetables. This will help in reducing the rush at the markets. The executive director of Mysuru HOPCOMS, HC Sudarshan said that the number of vehicles will be further increased if it gets good response from the public. He said that the city has 45 HOPCOMS outlets and the vehicles will operate where the outlets are unavailable.

The inauguration was held at the office of the director of the Horticulture Department at Curzon Park in the city. MCC Mayor Tasneem Bano, Deputy Mayor C Sridhar, assistant director of Horticulture Department Rudresh and others were present. (MR/KS)
