Prime News, National, Karnataka, Bengaluru, January 16:- Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa accorded a warm welcome to Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on his arrival at the HAL Airport in the city from New Delhi, on Saturday afternoon (January 16).
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party president Nalin Kumar Kateel at the airport.
Shah is on a two-day official visit to Karnataka. He will attend state BJP’s Core Committee meeting Saturday evening and is likely to discuss the dissension within the state BJP Legislature Party following the expansion of Yediyurappa cabinet on getting the party high command’s green signal.
Arun Singh, BJP’s national general secretary in-charge of Karnataka and national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh, Union Ministers D V Sadananda Gowda and Prahlad Joshi will also attend the core committee meeting.
The party is likely to finalise the candidates for the ensuing by-polls to the Belagavi Lok Sabha seat and Assembly by-elections from Maski and Basavakalyan. Later, Shah will fly to Bhadravathi for the inauguration of the Rapid Action Force unit. (Inputs: Agencies, NGB)
