Mysuru, November 12:- “The Supreme Court verdict tomorrow (November 13) will be historic. We are hopeful that it will be in our favour,” said disqualified MLA AH Vishwanath.
He was speaking after discussing with BJP taluk president and leaders on the upcoming by-elections to Hunsur at Jaladarshini Guest House here on Monday. He collected the opinions of BJP leaders about his candidature.
“I held discussion with Hunsur BJP president. Yogananda is an advocate and so am I. When two advocates sit and discuss, it will be a lengthy discussion,” Vishwanath said while speaking to media persons.
“The verdict of the Supreme Court will be historic. It is a political issue. Our country breathes politics. We are hopeful of the verdict to be in our favour. Former Assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar disqualified us as MLAs much against the Constitution of India,” he said.
Responding to the Congress charges on the alleged audiotape involving Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Vishwanath challenged Congress to file a complaint to the President.
“Yediyurappa and Kumaraswamy are not advocates but Siddaramaiah is. He should know how much a CD will remain as evidence. He should be aware if the court will treat a CD as evidence,” he said. Responding to CP Yogeshwar saying he might be the BJP candidate from Hunsur, Vishwanath said he is a good friend and has never said he is the likely candidate. On C H Vijayashankar coming back to BJP, Vishwanath opined it will be beneficial to the saffron party.
Hunsur taluk BJP president Yogananda said the party has made all preparations for the by-election from booth level and said if Vishwanath doesn’t get a chance, he hopes to get a chance to contest. (MR/KS)
