Hospitality industry waiting for govt permission to get back to business

Mysuru, June 4:- The state government had stated that hotels in the state can start functioning from June 8, but with conditions. Hotel owners are making preparations to reopen the hotels and are awaiting an official statement of the government.

Rio Meridian Hotel in the city is making all preparations for reopening. The entire hotel has been cleaned and sanitised.

“The state government has told that hotels can reopen from June 8 but we have not received any clear order. We have made preparations to reopen. The entire hotel has been completely sanitised. We have advised the hotel staff on dos and don’ts,” said executive director of the hotel, Praveen Kumar.

The state government had told that hotels would be allowed to function from June 1. Most of the hotel and lodge owners were eagerly waiting but the government instructed them to wait till June 8. Hotel owners are now hopeful of the government permitting them to reopen from next week. (MR/KS)
