Hospitals need surgery: Vatal Nagaraj

Mysuru, December 17:- “Government hospitals should be given treatment first before they start treating patients,” said Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj.

He was speaking after visiting K R Hospital on Sunday to enquire about the health of patients admitted to the hospital after consuming poisoned food at Sulawadi Maramma Temple in Kollegal taluk.

“Most of the government hospitals in Karnataka have become mortuaries. What has happened to the government? What is stopping them from developing the hospitals? This issue should be discussed in Belagavi Assembly session. I will stage a protest in front of Belagavi Suvarna Soudha on December 19 to demand a thorough probe into food poisoning at Maramma Temple,” he added.

He condemned Health Minister Shivananda Patil for coming late to enquire about the health of the patients. (MR/KS)
