House burgled in Mysuru; thieves flee with gold, silver ornaments

Mysuru, August 24:- The number of house burglary incidents are on the rise in the heritage city of Mysuru. Thieves have burgled the locked house of a cloth merchant at Lashkar Mohalla here and escaped with gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.

Trader Ashok Kumar, a resident of Halladakeri had been to Ahmedabad to purchase clothes and his family members had gone to Bengaluru to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with relatives. The thieves on noticing the locked house, made use of the opportunity to burgle the house and stole 390 gram gold ornaments and silver ornaments of 500 gram and cash of Rs 7,000.

The thieves have ransacked the house and thrown the clothes all over. Ashok Kumar came to know about the burglary incident when he returned home from Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

He has filed a complaint at Lashkar Police Station.

Lashkar Police Inspector Vivekanand along with his team and finger print experts visited the house. Investigations are on. (KS, NGB)
