Mysuru, March 11:- BS Anasuya Charitable Trust organised a seminar on “Vaidika tradition in Indian culture” at Brahmana Dharma Sahaya convention centre on Tuesday. Seer Elai Alvar of Vengipura Mutt released a booklet with details and distributed it to the people.
“We Indians are privileged to be born here in a country which boasts Ramayana and Mahabharata. Our lives will be valued if we look after our parents well. In Kaliyug, wealth is more valued than culture and human values. The society is following more of western culture than the Indian culture. This is causing chaos in the society,” he added.
“Vaidika tradition started even before the Indus valley civilisation. As Hindus consider river Ganga as flowing down from heaven, they consider taking a holy dip in river Ganga at least once in a lifetime. The ancient sages of India wrote Vedas. If we protect the rituals, then only the culture will prevail,” he added.
“Vedas and Puranas have a history of over thousands of years. It is advised that Brahmins should follow the rituals strictly to attain moksha. Governments should help the Brahmin community,” said vice president of Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha Dr K Raghuram Vajapayee.
Mysuru City Brahmins’ Association president DT Prakash, MD Parthasarathy, Mullur Guruprasad, Apurva Suresh, HN Sridharamurthy, Vikram Iyengar, Ajay Shastry, KM Nishanth and others were present. (MR/KS)
