Huseni, Mysuru’s talented and unique artist

S F HUSENI, well known as ‘Mysore Huseni’ among the artists’ circle, is known for his paper relief sculptures, drawings and paper art.

Huseni’s works have been published in many of the leading magazines of Karnataka. His paper art works are exhibited in many major exhibitions and he has demonstrated and conducted workshops in many institutions of Bengaluru and rural places. He was invited to take part in ‘Japan Habba 2009’, which was held at Bengaluru. He demonstrated the paper art and also exhibited his works at Japan Habba.

Huseni was born in Shivana Samudram (Bluff), Mandya district, Karnataka to Syed Peer and Zeenatunnisa Bi. He studied art at Vyjayanthi School of Arts, Mysuru. He is Bachelor of Fine Arts from Karnataka University, Dharwad.

Huseni has exhibited his works in many group shows in Karnataka and has held 15 solo shows in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Dharwad and Udupi. His works are with many art collectors in India and abroad. He is a recipient of ‘Anche Kuncha’ state Level award for four times which is awarded by Shanthi Vana , a trust run by Virendra Heggade of Dharmasthala, ‘Mysore Dasara Lalithakala award’, ‘Yuva Sambrama’ Kannada Culture Department (Mysore), Poster Making award given by Manasa Gangotri , Mysore and many others.

Huseni is one among the few artists who is specialised in paper cutting arts like Sanjhi (Indian Paper cutting art), Kirigami (Japanese Paper cutting art) and he has successfully adopted these methods for contemporary themes.
