Prime News, National, Bengaluru, July 1:- The Congress-led Opposition’s Presidential candidate Meira Kumar dismissed the remark that she was Congress scapegoat.
Meira Kumar arrived in Bengaluru for her election campaign, after meeting Congress members at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee KPCC, said, this is a fight of ideologies and anybody fights for ideologies is not a scapegoat.
Meira Kumar commenting on her nomination with the opposition parties said, coming together of 17 opposition parties to support her candidature against ruling party’s nominee Ram Nath Kovind, said this is historical and said I am a fighter and I will fight this election.
The opposition unity based on firm ideological positions that include democratic values, inclusiveness and social justice and destruction of cast structure.
Meira Kumar also met Janata Dal-Secular, JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda, thanked him for having signed her nomination, and further said, she will approach all the MLAs and MPs irrespective of parties to seek support for her candidature.
While regretting the Dalit issues rose against at the president’s election, clarified also regarding Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar not supporting, she said, she already wrote to Nitish.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara, working President Dinesh Gundu Rao, former president SR Patil and some other minister were present.
