Mysuru, May 25:- “I have not asked the government to investigate in Mymul appointments according to my wish. But if the investigation is done by the officials of the Mymul, it will not be transparent,” said MLA Sa Ra Mahesh.
He was speaking at a press meet held at his office in the city on Monday.
“District in-charge Minister ST Somashekar says the government can’t investigate as I say. I have not asked to investigate as I ask. My intention is for a transparent investigation. Candidates are not even provided OMR sheets. Question papers are not provided to write answers. Key answers are not even released,” he said.
“I think the government knows the difference between protest and blackmail. We staged a protest in Vidhana Soudha. It opened the eyes of the government and it ordered an investigation. But the investigation is not in the right direction. The investigation should be held transparently. I have given a copy of my letter to Deputy Commissioner, milk producers’ union. According to the Act, no appointment process will be done in any cooperative unions 3 months before the term. The term of this administration board of Mymul ends on September 13, 2020. Later, an election officer has to be appointed. Law is neither created by Sa Ra Mahesh nor by S T Somashekar. The appointment tender process too was not transparent. Candidates are not even provided with OMR sheets. Key answers and OMR sheets are not released on the website,” he said.
“Our leader HD Kumaraswamy made me a minister and district in-charge minister of Kodagu. If you visit Madikeri, you will get to know what I have done. When a bribe of Rs 20 lakh taken at Mymul for a job is brought to my notice, should I remain silent? I won’t stop my protest,” he said.
“I protested against the Mysore Race Course. Earlier, they were paying Rs 75,000 to the government. Now, they are paying Rs 2 crore. We have brought the government an increased income of more than Rs 15 crore. I urge the government to do the investigation according to the law,” he said.
“If BJP leaders behave carelessly as their government is in power, we will stage a protest led by Kumaraswamy. Let them start interviews, we will release some list. We will see who will get selected. There is still a time of 3 months and 14 days. They only do rules and they only violate the rules. Be ministers or MLAs, they all should follow the rules,” he added.
Mahesh hit back at MLA G T Devegowda who had mocked that Sa Ra knows everything. “Let Devegowda ask me not to get into Mymul affairs, I will obey what our senior leader says. I will bring this to the notice of Kumaraswamy and do what he says,” he said.
“People of my constituency have elected me. While speaking about me publicly, he has to be careful. Because it will hurt the sentiments of the people. Devegowda can call me anywhere and talk to me. He has the right to speak about me. But he should be careful while speaking in public,” he added. (MR/KS)
