I have no clue about state Cabinet expansion: Minister ST Somashekar

Congress is a sinking ship and many leaders are deserting the party, says Somashekar

Prime News, Karnataka, Politics, Mysuru, February 3:- Feigning ignorance, the Mysuru district In-charge Minister S T Somashekar on Thursday (February 3) said that he has no clue about the state Cabinet expansion.

He was talking to reporters on the imminent expansion of the state Cabinet.

He said, “I think you are asking the wrong person. I have no information about this issue. If I get anything, I will inform the media first. Cabinet expansion is the prerogative of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. He can do what he thinks is right. I have no role to play.”

On senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah’s recent statement that some of the Bharatiya Janata Party ministers are in touch with him, Somashekar said, “Congress is a sinking ship and many leaders are deserting it. Leaders switching loyalties is nothing new in politics.”

On the controversy surrounding piped gas supply in Mysuru district, the minister said, “There is some confusion which will be sorted out shortly. BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel will be talking to the concerned parties to thrash out the differences.”

Reacting to party MLA Somashekar Reddy’s allegation, the minister said, “It is far from the truth. Maybe, I have not received calls when I am busy. But I make it a point to contact him later.”

The minister also hinted at action against seven housing cooperative societies that are in the news for all the wrong reasons. (MR/KS)
