Mysuru, March 30:- Mysuru District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Health and Family Welfare Department jointly organised the workshop on ‘prenatal, postnatal and female infanticide’ of 2018-19 at Rajendra Bhavan at JSS Hospital here on Friday.
Principal District and Sessions Court Judge S K Vantigodi inaugurated the event.
“Identifying the gender of the fetus was prohibited since 1994. It was amended again at a higher level in 2003. If anyone involves in the act, they will be jailed for 3 years. This workshop will be helpful in that aspect,” he added.
Civil Judge B P Devamane, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K Jyothi, regional assistant director Dr A Ramachandra Bayiri, District Health Officer Dr R Venkatesh, Dr M Pashupathi and others were present. (MR/KS)
