Mysuru, January 16:- IETE Mysuru Centre organised an international webinar on “Career insights and way Forward – Post-Covid” on Friday (January 15).
Mahadeva Prasad S, head – Training and Placement, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, was the chief guest at the webinar.
Prof Nataraj C R, chairman, IETE Mysuru Centre; Dr Bhagyashree S R, vice-chair, IETE Mysuru Centre, dean (Research) and professor, Department, of ECE, ATMECE, Mysuru; Dr Parameshachari B D, secretary, IETE Mysuru Centre, professor and HoD, Department, of TCE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru; Prof Shashidhara S Gokhale, treasurer, IETE Mysuru; executive committee members of IETE Mysuru Centre and participants from various colleges were present.
Prasad highlighted the insights about various sectors where engineering graduates can join – private companies, PSUs, government sectors and higher studies like MTech, MS, MBA and PhD. Career options for core engineering graduates – research organisations, public sector undertakings, private companies, teaching, self-employment, state and central government jobs.
He also gave insights of top 10 skills of 2025 like analytical thinking and innovation, active learning strategies, complex problem-solving, critical thinking and analysis, creativity, originality and initiative, leadership and social influence, technology use, monitoring and control, technology design and programming, resilience, stress tolerance and flexibility, reasoning, problem-solving and ideation. He motivated students to set a smart goal which should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. Finally, he briefed about the soft skills required to become a successful engineer.

Likitha K N, student, Department of ECE, BGS Institute of Technology, introduced the chief guest. The webinar was coordinated by Rajesh K M, assistant professor, Department of TCE, GSSSIETW and Goutham V, assistant professor, Department of ECE, BGS Institute of Technology.
The webinar was attended by more than 100 participants from all over the country. The mastering of the event was done by Divya Sameeksha K, student, Department of ECE, BGS. Yashwanth Gowda P, student, Department of ECE, BGS, proposed vote of thanks. (MR)
