Mysuru, May 31:- “Former CM Yeddyurappa has no knowledge regarding the loan waiver of the farmers and speaks whatever comes to his mind,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking at the foundation laying ceremony for the filling of 150 lakes of the taluk.
“The farmers of Karnataka have loans worth Rs 52,000 crore, out of which Rs 42,000 crore are of nationalised banks. Cooperative banks of the state have given out loans worth Rs 10,000 crore. If the central government waives off the loan, then the state government has no problem to waive off the loans. BJP MPs including Yeddyurappa do not raise voice in parliament to for the farmers. Yeddyurappa shows double standard on this issue,” he said.
“GST was first suggested during the UPA regime. Modi, who was then the CM of Gujarat had opposed the act. Now the same GST is being implemented with minor changes. Modi has now took a U turn,” he added. He also opposed the decision of the central government to ban cow slaughter.
“I have paid tributes to Parvathamma Rajkumar and instructed the officials to perform the final rites with all the honours,” he added.
Ministers Dr H C Mahadevappa, Anjaneya, Roshan Baig, and MLA Venkatesh were present.
