If need be, we will take loan to help farmers: CM BS Yediyurappa

BSY hints at presenting farmer-friendly state budget on March 5

Mysuru, January 27:- “The state government will stand by the farmers at any cost. We will provide support price for the agricultural crops and make sure that farmers will live peacefully,” said Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.

He was speaking after inaugurating “Agriculture fair and exhibition” at Suttur fair on Sunday.

“The state budget will be presented on March 5. Farmers will get what they want. Special schemes will be provided for agriculture. I won’t respond to the comment of former chief minister Siddaramaiah who told the state treasure is empty. I will present the budget on March 5. Let Siddaramaiah question it at the session. I will give him the right answer,” he said.

The chief minister confirmed that MLA Dr Sudhakar will become a minister. Dr Sudhakar too smiled when Yediyurappa mentioned Dr Sudhakar is the ‘future minister.’

“The state government is providing Rs 2 crore to the family of Salumarada Thimmakka who is awarded with Padma Shri. Except the tax money, the remaining amount has been credited to Thimmakka’s account. She has been provided with a house worth Rs 50 lakh in Bengaluru,” he added.

“My Davos (Switzerland) visit will help the industrial development in Karnataka. After SM Krishna, none of the chief ministers had gone to Davos. I have gone to Davos after 16 years. Industries should come to other parts of Karnataka apart from Mysuru and Bengaluru. Youths should get more jobs. Agreements have been made for investments in the state in future. It has been a fruitful visit,” he said.

“When Yediyurappa became chief minister of Karnataka, the state received very good rains. It has made farmers happy. The chief minister should take action to provide facilities to farmers,” said MP Shobha Karandlaje.

“Every leader has faith in Yediyurappa. He has fulfilled all his promises. Mysuru is the ‘cultural capital’ of Karnataka. Yediyurappa government is like flowing water. He should remain the chief minister of state for the next 3 years,” said District in-charge Minister V Somanna.

Somanna also spoke about BY Vijayendra during the fair. The minister said that Vijayendra should have the blessings of Suttur seer.

The Chief Minister felicitated Salumarada Thimmakka on the occasion. Seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt, MLA Dr Yatindra Siddaramaiah, MP Vijayendra and others were present. (MR/KS)
