Mysuru, August 26:- “I consider ministry as a responsibility. Minister’s post is not a great thing. I would be happy to be recognised to be what I am,” said minister JC Madhuswamy.
He was speaking after releasing book ‘Bharata Ondu Marushodhane’ by Ravi Hanj at Dr Shivarathri Rajendra Bhavan in the city on Sunday.
“I contested elections in 1985 and lost. I was elected as an MLA in 1989. I have been in politics since then but never asked for ministry. We have to wait for the right time, then positions will come to us automatically,” he added.
“The books written to please someone will have praises and not facts. Unfortunate that westerners wrote our history. But Ravi Hanj has made an honest effort in seeking the true base of our history. He has shown courage to say the truth in his book,” he added.
Seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamji of Suttur Mutt, retired vice-chancellor Prof Mallepuram G Venkatesh, former MLC Thontadarya, Ravi Hanj, publisher DN Lokappa and others were present. (MR/KS)
