IGP Vipul Kumar inaugurates Dasara Arm Wrestling Competitions

Mysuru: September 25:- Inspector General of Police (IGP), Southern Range and director of Karnataka Police Academy (KPA),  Vipul Kumar on Monday inaugurated the state-level  Dasara Arm Wrestling Competitions (punja kusti) at Devaraja Urs Multipurpose Stadium adjacent to Dasasra Exhibition Ground in the city.

To introduce and encourage the participants, mock wrestling competition was held between IGP Vipul Kumar and Deputy Commissioner and Dasara special officer Randeep. The match ended in a tie.

The second mock competition was held between Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Mayor MJ Ravi Kumar and Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) chairman Siddaraju. The competition was won by Siddaraju.

Another mock competition held between SP Ravi D Channanavar and MCC commissioner G Jagadish ended in a tie, with both winning one bout each.

Hundreds of wrestlers from various places in the state are taking part in the wrestling competitions.

The wrestling competitions has separate arena for men for women arm wrestlers.
