Mysuru, April 25:- “The Association of Pediatricians, JSS Hospital and other organisations are jointly organising World Immunisation Week to increase immunity among children from April 24 to April 30 at JSS Hospital and Cheluvamba Hospital in the city,” said national president of the organisation, Dr Narayanappa at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club here on Wednesday.
“The infant death rate has increased in India due to negligence in getting children vaccinated. World Health Organisation (WHO) has opined that vaccination helps in making children healthy and strong. Free vaccination will be held on the occasion. Vaccines are available for infants to 16-year-old children. With the proper implementation of Indra Dhanush scheme, the programme will be made more effective,” he added.
