Implement government schemes to help the public: MLA GT Devegowda

Mysuru, August 29:- MLA of Chamundeshwari Constituency, GT Devegowda instructed the officials to properly implement the government projects to help the public

He was speaking after inaugurating Rs 13-crore developmental works at Sindhuvalli, Doora and Marballi villages of Chamundeshwari Constituency. He instructed the officials to judiciously utilise the government funds.

“Houses have collapsed in several villages due to incessant rains. Officials have done a survey and learnt that more than 150 houses have collapsed. Officials of the revenue department and engineers have also visited the spot and submitted a report. Village panchayats have to distribute houses to those who lost their houses,” he said.

He distributed Rs 5,000 as compensation to each of those who have lost homes. Villagers urged the MLA to take back his decision of political retirement and continue in electoral politics and said they would support any of his political moves.

The MLA inaugurated Sindhuvalli – Doddakaya road work at a cost of Rs 5 crore, CC road and drainage works at Sindhuvalli ST Colony at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, SC Colony at a cost of Rs 35 lakh. He inaugurated the compound works and solar plant inauguration at Taluru Government School. He inaugurated drinking water plant at SC Colony at Dodda Katuru and development of village roads at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. He inaugurated the road works from Jayapura – Kadakola road to Marballi Hundi, Marballi, Doora. He inaugurated drainage works at Marballi Hundi at a cost of Rs 10 lakh.

The MLA held a public meeting at TVS Hall at Sindhuvalli and instructed KSRTC depot manager to provide bus service to Sindhuvalli from Mysuru city. He listened to the grievances of the public and provided solutions on the spot. Villagers said that electricity connection was not given to houses under Bhagyajyothi Scheme. The MLA instructed the AEE who was present at the meeting to take immediate action. The AEE said that the tender holder has done half the work and said the notice has been issued to him.

Taluru villagers requested the MLA for road development to which he said a tender has been called and the work would begin any time. He said that four Ambedkar Bhavans have been sanctioned and one will be in Taluru.

He also held Janaspandana meetings at Doora, T Katuru, Marballi and Marballi Hundi villages.

Zilla Panchayat member Roopa Lokesh, Prema Kumari, Mahadevaswamy, MCDCC Bank chairman GD Harish Gowda, taluk panchayat president Kalamma Kemparamaiah, Sindhuvalli village panchayat president Krishnaiah, vice president Umapathy, Doora village panchayat president Nanjundaswamy, Marballi village panchayat president Yashoda, HC Raju, Udburu Mahadevaswamy, Gejjegalli Lokesh, Doora Nagaraj, Dadadahalli Mahesh, Byathahalli Manju, Upendra, Chikkakanya Mahadevaswamy, Doddakaya Huchappa and officials were present.
