Mysuru, May 16:- State president of Karnataka Sugarcane Growers’ Association Kuruburu Shanthakumar has asked the parties; whoever forms the government, to implement the assurances given in the manifesto.
“They have promised of waiver of loans of farmers, scientific price for crops, pension for 60-year-olds, solving Mahadayi and Cauvery river water disputes. They should also implement Mekedatu project. A meeting will be held to discuss the implementation of Swaminathan Commission report on May 18 at Gandhi Bhavan in Bengaluru. Around 116 farmers’ organisations of north India are not selling vegetables to Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMCs) from June 1 to June 10,” he added.
