Bengaluru, June 16:- On an average four Cyber crimes are reported in Karnataka out of which three in Bengaluru city says Cyber cell police.
The statistics compiled of seven Cyber crime police stations set up in the state. In the first five months of the year 679 cases have been registered in the state. Bengaluru alone has 525 cases.
Bengaluru continues to be topping in the cyber crimes among the states in India. State police stations are also registering cases under cheating, impersonating, money laundering cases on which data not shared with cyber cell, majority of the cyber crimes belong to fake job offers, banks frauds, stolen data, debit and credit card fraud, online bullying, offers in the form of SMS,EMAILS, fraudulent online fund transfer comes next.
By creating false accounts belonging to reputed companies, fraudsters create online fake job offers and cheating the aspirants reported very often.
Do not jump to disclose your personal information to anybody more than required in case required. Be careful while uploading your personal photos and details in any of the websites which create a link to do, never open an unknown link.
If you don’t know the senders do not send and accept friend requests on social networking sites.
Do not share your personal banking username, password and ATM pin number to anybody even to banking staff if they ask you to do so, visit personally to bank to verify the credentials.
