Indefinite protest to demand waiver of farmers’ loans

Mysuru, May 16:- Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene will stage indefinite protest to press for loan waiver of farmers, women self help groups and rural people,” said the district president of the sangha, Hosuru Kumar. He was addressing a press meet at Hunsur on Monday.

“More than 57,000 farmers have committed suicide in the state over the years and the list is growing. Agriculture loan is being recovered forcibly from the farmers. Many farmers have been jailed for no mistake of them. Banks are taking the support price of milk and other products for loan repayment,” he added.

“Indefinite protest will be held in front of the Gandhi statue at Anand Rao circle in Bengaluru if our demands are not met. The central government too is showing it is anti-farmer by not responding to the protests of Tamil Nadu farmers,” Kumar said.
