Indefinite strike by Madigas from October 2

Mysuru, September 5:- “Madiga community will be staging a protest from October 2, urging the government to implement Sadashiva committee report. Madigas condemn the negligence of the government to implement the report. We will stage a protest march from Freedom Park Bengaluru on October 2 to mark Gandhi jayanti. On October 12, we will protest in front of the houses of all the district in-charge ministers. We will stage a protest in front of the official residence of chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, Krishna, on October 17.  Following this, we will call for Bengaluru bandh on October 22. We will resort to a hunger strike at Freedom Park on October 23. We will not step back till the government responds to our demand,” said Ambanna Arolikar of Madiga community at a press meet at Mysuru press club.

“The community has been demanding implementation of the report for over 25 years. Our community has been sidelined. The state government has to consider it seriously and call for an immediate meeting of the cabinet and recommend the report of the committee to the central government,” he said.

Muthanna of Bagalakote, Bennur Nagaraj, Danappa of Raichur, Maruti, Prasanna Chakravarthy were present. (MR/KMR).
