India must thrive for more gold in Olympics: PGR Sindhia

“The society and the government must encourage children to focus their mind on sports,” said former home minister PGR Sindhia.

He was speaking after inaugurating sports activities for the academic year 2016-17, organised by SDVS College, at its premises.

“From this year, we are celebrating hockey legendary Dhyanchand’s birthday as our National Sport’s Day but this gains momentum only if India improves in sports. It must thrive for more gold in Olympics and the sportsmen should start their training now itself for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics,” he said.

“Even the parents play a vital role in encouraging their children in this regard. India has contributed to the world in a big way through yoga, similarly it must take lead in sports activities,” said Sindhia.
