India struggling in the cluthces of PM Modi, Amit Shah: CH Vijayashankar

Mysuru, February 18:- “The central government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are struggling in the clutches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah. Because of their dictatorship, senior leaders L K Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and other veteran leaders have been sidelined,” alleged former minister C H Vijayashankar at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Saturday.

At a meeting held for the first after joining the Congress, he hit out at PM Modi and Shah. He alleged that if one has to survive in the BJP, he or she has not kneel down in front of Shah. He expressed his dissatisfaction over state BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa bowing his head in front of Shah during his recent visit to Mysuru.

“BJP will not come to power. Honest leaders of the party have been sidelined. Many BJP leaders were sent to jail and this is what the party can boast of sending leaders to jail. Modi is often making allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. What happened to Modi’s assurances that he made to the whole country before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections? People are unhappy that Modi has gone back on the promises he made then. Let the Centre make its stance clear on Lokpal Bill, linking of Rivers Ganga and Cauvery, Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, ban on meat export. Modi government is anti-farmer and anti-rural development. Vajpayee government had 100% share in Sarva Shikshana Abhiyana. But this government has only 30%. They haven’t even constructed a school building. This government could not even continue the better projects of  Vajpayee government,” he said.

“Our Prime Minister is a heartless person. He doesn’t respect his cabinet members. He didn’t even call his wife Yashoda Ben when she met with an accident. He treats Sushma Swaraj like a clerk and he goes on foreign trips. He asks her to stay in India and take decisions. Siddaramaiah has implemented the state government schemes in a right way and Congress will come to power again,” Vijayashankar added.

Manjula Manasa, Vijay Kumar, Murthy, Shivanna and others were present. (MR/KMR).
