India’s cleanest city hailed by PM Modi

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) on Saturday got a pat on the back from Prime Minister Narendra Modi who hailed the MCC’s commitment towards city’s cleanliness while Bengaluru Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) drew flak for failing to keep Bengaluru clean.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Town Hall here to witness the launch of Smart City AMRUT projects in Pune which was streamed live from the Chatrapathi Shivaji Stadium where Modi addressed. He pointed out that while the local authority in Mysuru had successfully implemented the Swacch Bharath Mission; the BBMP has miserably failed to address the cleanliness issue.

The programme also saw CM’s of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, and Rajasthan participate via video conference.
