India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crosses landmark milestone of 46 crore

Prime News, National, health, Disease, Vaccine, New Delhi, July 31:- The country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark milestone of 46 crore on Friday (July 30).

The Union Health Ministry said more than 44.38 lakh vaccine doses have been administered Friday. The new phase of universalisation of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from June 21.

Over 20.96 lakh vaccine doses were administered as first dose and more than 3.41 lakh vaccine doses given as second dose in the age group 18 to 44 years on Friday. Cumulatively, over 15.17 crore persons across 37 States and Union Territories received their first dose and over 80 lakh received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive.

Five States – Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than one crore cumulative doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the age group 18 to 44 years.

The ministry said Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries in the age group 18 to 44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
