India’s future depends on votes of youths: Judge SK Vantigodi

National Voters' Day observed in Mysuru

Mysuru, January 25:- “The future of India is in the hands of youths who can exercise their franchise,” said Principal District and Sessions Judge Suresh K Vantigodi.

He was speaking after inaugurating National Voters’ Day held at Sri Rangacharlu Memorial Town Hall here, organised jointly by the District Administration and Mysuru City Corporation on Friday.

“Voting is a sacred right. There are 66% of young voters in India. Election process is essential to elect capable leaders. Voting percentage has deceased in urban areas and has increased in rural areas. All the students having voting rights should compulsorily vote. They should remember that the future of the nation depends on  their votes,” he said.

Judge Vantigodi distributed voter ID cards to the newly enrolled voters who attended the event.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) B R Poornima administered the oath to the young voters.

Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, MCC Commissioner KH Jagadeesha and others were present.

Prior to the event, a rally of students was held from the premises of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple to K R Circle and to Town Hall. Nearly 300 students and people participated in the rally. (KS, NGB)
