Mysuru, June 20:- Revenue Minister RV Deshpande on Thursday said that he has instructed Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar to solve the drinking water problem of Tavarekatte at the foot of Chamundi Hills as soon as possible.
The minister is in Mysuru and will be holding a progress review meeting at Zilla Panchayat Hall. Prior to that, he visited Chamundi Hill and sought blessings from the Goddess. He also visited the residents of the Chamundi Hills and listened to their grievances.
“Villagers have told that Cauvery water is being supplied till SDM College and they want it to be extended to the hills. Former Chamaraja Constituency Congress MLA Vasu has also given valuable suggestions. I have asked him to submit a report by preparing a good water tank and line estimation by booster installation,” the minister said.
Many people told that the khata of their houses and lands have not been transferred to their names and the minister asked the DC to solve the issue and said he would discuss the same in progress review meeting.
The minister said no to comment on KPCC dissolution and said his duty is to work as a minister and he is doing that.
Former MLA Vasu, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, DC Abhiram G Sankar, Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer (CEO) K Jyothi and others were present. (MR/KS)
