International Federation of Hockey: India routs Russia 10-0 in opening match

India to play Poland at 7 pm today

Prime News, International and National Sport, Bhubaneswar (Odisha), June 7:- Eight-time champions India routed Russia 10-0 in their opening match of the International Federation of Hockey men’s series finals, which began at Kalinga Stadium here on Thursday.

Harmanpreet Singh and Akashdeep Singh scored braces as six others got on the score sheet. Nilakanta Sharma was declared ‘man of the match.’

Earlier, USA stunned higher-ranked South Africa 2-0 in the opening match of the tournament, while Poland thrashed Uzbekistan 4-0.
