International symposium on ‘Smart Grid technologies’

NIE Institute of Technology is organizing its first international symposium on ‘Smart Grid technologies: Recent Initiatives, Challenges & Opportunities’ on January 27 and 28 in the city at their campus.

The symposium sponsored by IEEE PES, University of Victoria, KPTCL, CESCOM, BESCOM, GESCOM, HESCOM, MESCOM, KAVIKA, Kaynes Technology, Asian Fab Tec Ltd., KGN Electricals, PRDC and AMOD Stampings includes technical talks on smart grid technologies by eminent experts across the globe, Doctoral Consortium to provide platform for the research scholars to interact with subject experts and A Technical Exhibition to showcase technologies, products and services related to the topic.

 The focus of the two-day symposium will emphasize on renewable energy sources integration issues, distribution generation technologies, power electronics for DG Systems, protection in DG environment, communication technologies and TOT for Smart Grid, power quality issues, AMI and AMR. The Chief Guest of the programme is Dr H P Khincha, Former vice Chencellor, VTU-Belagavi will inaugurate the symposium and deliver the key note address, Dr Karisidappa, Hon. Vice Chancellor, VTU-Belagavi will release the proceedings of the symposium and D Kiran IRS, Managing Director, and CESCOM-Mysuru will inaugurate the Technical Exhibition. The programme will be presided over by Srinath Batni, Hon President — NIE group of Institutions, in presence of G S Ramachandra, Hon. Secretary, NIE group of Institutions, Dr T Ananthapadmanabha, Principal, NIE IT.

The valedictory program of the event will be held on January 28.
