Investment in private sector has collapsed: Dr Manmohan Singh

Prime News, National, New Delhi, June 6:-  The private sector investment has collapsed and the economy is running on just one engine of public spending, said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, here today.

Addressing the CWC meeting, he said that India’s economic growth has slowed down sharply due to the note ban.

The crisis in Jammu and Kashmir has come to represent the colossal failure of NDA government, said Sonia Gandhi.

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) chaired by party president Sonia Gandhi, met in the city on Tuesday to discuss the current political situation and the upcoming Presidential poll.

The highest decision-making body of the Congress met at the residence of Sonia Gandhi and was attended by party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh.

Top Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, P Chidambaram, Ambika Soni, Janardan Dwiwedi and other CWC members were present during the meeting.

The leaders are likely to discuss the current political situation in the country and the issue of forging a larger opposition unity.
