Mysuru, January 25:- The Intellectual Property Right Cell and Incubation Centre of NIE Institute of Technology (NIE IT) at Koorgalli here will be inaugurated on January 29 at the institute premises.
The IPR Cell at NIEIT will be the first of its kind hub in Mysuru. It has been formed to look after the activities related to intellectual property and to create awareness among faculties, research scholars and students of the institution about acquiring exclusive rights for their innovations like patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial design rights and trade secrets which are recognised under the corresponding fields of law. This cell also extends consultancy for IPR in and around Mysuru.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between National Law School of Indian University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) and NIEIT on the occasion.
The Incubation Centre strives to nurture entrepreneurship in those people who have a passion for knowledge generation and mentoring. The centre at NIEIT will help new and start-up companies to develop by providing various services.
Prof Venkata Rao, Vice-Chancellor, NLSIU, Bengaluru, will be the chief guest. Prof T Ramakrishna, MHRD, chair professor on IPR Head, CIPRA, NLSIU, Bengaluru, will be the guest of honour.
Srinath Batni, honorary president, NIE Group of Institutions, Mysuru, will preside. Dr C K N Raja, retired professor of law, University of Mysore and former vice president, NIE MC and G S Ramachandra, honorary secretary, NIE Group of Institutions. Mysuru, will grace the occasion.
Prof T Ananthapadmanabha, principal, NIEIT Mysuru, will be present. –(KK)
