IRCTC to start courses in hospitality

Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation ltd (IRCTC) has plans to start HSRT training program in Mysuru.

IRCTC is mandated to upgrade, professionalise and manage catering and hospitality services at railway stations and trains across the country. Under the Ministry of Tourism’s ‘Hunar Se Rozgar Tak’ (HSRT) initiative for creation of employable skills amongst youth belonging to economically weaker strata of the society, IRCTC has been conducting various short-term hospitality trade courses under HSRT scheme.

The HSRT courses are run under CBSP Scheme of Ministry of Tourism to develop skill of under privileged, unemployed youngsters in the age group 18 – 28 years with the minimum qualification of 8th standard pass, thereby helping them to get employment opportunity. The course is free of cost for applicants. The training will be offered for ‘Food & Beverage Service’ (6 Weeks) with the stipend of Rs 1,500. On successful completion of the program, the candidates shall be eligible for entry level jobs in hospitality industry.
