Mysuru, March 29:- Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made his mind to vacate Varuna Constituency for his son Dr Yatindra, but he is confused about his constituency to contest in the Assembly elections to the state scheduled to be held on May 12.
Even as Siddaramaiah prepares to change his constituency, many leaders of the party are asking him to contest from Badami, Koppala, Ballari, Kaduru and Periyapattana Constituencies. Though he has announced that he is going to contest from Chamundeshwari Constituency, what is bothering him is the subterranean understanding between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (Secular) which is giving the Kuruba strongman a few sleepless nights. Given this scenario, Siddaramaiah will have to think twice before contesting from Chamundeshwari Constituency.
Much before the election date was announced, BJP and JD(S) leaders held secret parleys on ways and means to defeat Siddaramaiah on his home turf.
Chief Minister’s bitter rivals JD(S) leader AH Vishwanath and BJP leader V Srinivas Prasad are hell-bent on seeing Siddramaiah’s back in the Assembly elections.-(MR/KS).
