It was a painful sight to see small children from 1st standard addressing the gathering and asking the public to provide basic amenities like drinking water, furniture, repair of roof of school building and doors for toilets at the government school at Jayapura, HD Kote road.
On the occasion of makkala grama sabha, the children listed out the problems they face in their school. The programme is specially arranged during Nov-December period, at the Jayapura Grama Panchayat as per government instructions, just to bring out the problems of students at the school.
The Grama Panchayat development officer and the president of Grama Panchayat noted down the grievances and assured the school to get the problems solved at the earliest.
Speaking on the occasion, K V Ramanath, financial literacy counsellor from SBM, who participated in the meeting on behalf of all banks in Mysuru taluk, requested all children to utilise the bank account which has been opened for crediting of scholarship amount from the government, also for their own savings and to develop the habit of savings right from their young age, as the amount saved in banks will be secure. Regarding basic amenities to the school, the Gram Panchayat will try to get funds from the government and along with the well affluent villagers and philanthropists and old students of the school will take care of the maintenance of the school.
