Jantakal case: HDK’s interim bail extended

Prime News, State, Bengaluru, May 24:- The 53rd Additional City Civil and Sessions Court on Wednesday extended former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy’s interim anticipatory bail till May 30. Last week, the court had granted Kumaraswamy interim bail till May 23. When the case came up for hearing, the court extended the bail term.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) is questioning Kumaraswamy in Janatakal mining row as per the directions of the Supreme Court. Former commissioner of mining department, Gangaram Baderiya has already been arrested by the SIT.

Kumaraswamy appeared before the SIT a couple of days back. At this juncture, the probe is interestingly poised as SIT is also investigating the allegation by  former tourism minister and BJP leader Gali Janardhan Reddy in 2006 against Kumaraswamy that he allegedly took Rs 150 crore from a few mining industrialists. On his part, Reddy has sought three weeks’ time to produce all the necessary documents to support his allegation.
