Mysuru, February 17:- “The Janata Dal (Secular) and Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) have come to a tacit understanding for the assembly elections slated for May,” said JD(S) state chief secretary Harihara Anandaswamy at a press meet on Friday.
“A pre-election meeting took place between JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and BSP president Mayavati. BSP will contest from 20 constituencies and accordingly, JD(S) will not contest from these constituencies,” he added.
“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given no benefits to Ahinda class in the budget. If JD(S) comes to power, DCM post will be given to a Dalit as announced by state JD(S) president by H D Kumaraswamy,” Anandaswamy said.
State JD(S) vice-president M B Srinivas, APMC member Javarappa, Mandya Puttaswamy Gowda, Nagaraj and others were present. (MR/KMR).
