Prime News, Karnataka, Bengaluru, July 10:- JD(S) supremo HD Devegowda’s decision to nominate KS Rangappa as a candidate to Chamaraja Assembly Constituency in Mysuru for Karnataka assembly 2018 elections now has led to strong disapproval from party local leaders.
Former Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and Mysore University Vice-Chancellor Prof K S Rangappa nomination has led to rebellion in Mysuru district Janata Dal-Secular JD(S) unit. Many JD(S) leaders feel that Rangappa has been inducted into JD(S) against the wishes of the local leaders.
Prof K S Rangappa is in news over allegations and counter-allegations with regard to various scandals in Mysore University and KSOU when he was the Vice Chancellor of both the universities.
JD(S) Party Mysuru district leaders are now unhappy over the imposition of the candidate as Rangappa don’t have a hold over local leaders.
Many JD(S) leaders observed that even though Mysuru is the strong JDS belt, few recent decisions are taken by the party leadership embarrass the party.
At Hunsur, first G T Devegowda’s son name surfaced, but later the name of Prajwal Revanna was heard. But after former MP A H Vishwanath joined the party his name has been shortlisted as a candidate.
