JD(S) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh questions BJP MLA SA Ramadass’ Covid order

Prime News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Mysuru, May 20:- There is no logic behind closing all the Covid care centres when one of them is not functioning properly, said Janata Dal (Secular) MLA and former minister Sa Ra Mahesh here on Thursday (May 20).

At a press conference held at his office here, he said “BJP leader and MLA S A Ramadass himself was Medical Education Minister long back. When the situation is bad, what is the point in closing all the Covid care centres? He is MLA for one constituency and he has no powers to close all the Covid care centres in the district.”

Mahesh said, “Medicines related to contain Covid have not been sent to our constituency. Has Ramadass been appointed as the District In-charge Minister? Why is the district administration following the orders of Ramadass? The guilty should be punished. Your three-star, five-star and two-star law is being followed by the officials. After Bengaluru, Mysuru is the biggest district. If wrong orders are passed, what do we do?”

Training his guns on Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, he said, “She has no work at all. We have the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner to take care of the works in Mysuru. Sindhuri can visit villages to take stock of the situation. Ramadass has no business to pass the orders and I wonder if Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has given him extra powers.”

Mahesh said, “We can’t be too rigid in tough situations. Cancelling all the Covid care centres is not right and let there be a probe into the irregularities.” (MR/KS)
