Gastroenterologists of JSS hospital, Mysuru successfully performed endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio pancreatography (ERCP) on a five-year-old child.
Addressing a press meet here in the city on Tuesday, Medical Superintendent of JSS hospital, Dr M Guruswamy said, “A five-year-old male child was admitted to the paediatric department at JSS Hospital with difficulty in breathing. On evaluation, he was diagnosed to have massive fluid collection in the right side of chest with features of chronic pancreatitis. ERCP was performed by the team of gastroenterology, led by Dr HP Nandeesh, head of gastroenterology and herpetology, which confirmed a lead from the pancreatic duct for which pancreatic stent placement was done.”
Dr Prathibha Matche, consultant anaesthesiologist and pain relief physician, Ramesh, patient Abhishek and other were present.
