The seventh annual convocation of JSS University is scheduled at 3 pm tomorrow at Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS Medical College, Mysuru.
Vijay Kumar Saraswat, member, NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog, Government of India, will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address and give away awards and medals. This year, Vijay Kumar Saraswat is an eminent scientist and accomplished researcher who is also an innovator, technologist and visionary.
Suttur seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the Chancellor of the University, will preside over the convocation. A number of dignitaries and distinguished guests from academia, administration and industry from all over India besides the student and parents/guardians are invited to the convocation ceremony.
About 1096 graduates will be conferred with their degrees in bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, management studies, life sciences and biomedical sciences. At this convocation, 41 candidates who share 59 medals and awards have been identified for their exceptional performances and 18 candidates will be awarded with PhD research degrees and three candidates will receive the medical super specialty degree (DM & MCh).
In the National Institutional Ranking Frame Work (NIRF) approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India on 25th September 2015, JSS University stands 35th all over India and 2nd in the state. JSS Colleges of Pharmacy, Ooty and Mysuru stand 9th and 10th respectively in All India Ranking.
